I am the zookeeper, teacher, referee, taxi driver, and chief dictator of our family of 5 (actually, usually 6 and sometimes 7 counting foster kids). Well, that is until the dad gets home and then all my efforts go to pot and craziness rules! I home school the girls and send Lucas to regular school. I think everyone is happy with this arrangement so far. I love my great little family and am consistently amazed at my kids. They are the greatest and I am not a bit biased.
Tayler is 11 now and growing up more and more every day. She is a great helper and I must say it is nice to have her around all day. She is in 6th grade and is schooling through K12 which is a great online school. She is very responsible about getting her work and chores done. Every once in a while she needs some....pushing, but she always gets the job done! Ever since she and Kelsey have been home they have gotten along much better than they ever have. She loves to skate and is quite good at it. She is taking Gymnastics right now and is tolerating it very well! We love to tease her about her face full of freckles but secretly we adore them! She loves, LOVEs music and can hardly sit anywhere without singing.
Lucas
Lucas is all boy! He is big time into sports and wants to be a professional baseball player when he gets older. He just finished soccer and of course he was the best on the team! He is in 4th grade and is doing so awesome. He is striving for straight A's and although his terrible handwriting might not allow him to achieve it, we still think he is brilliant! He is a sweet boy and has lots of compassion. He is very good at playing with the foster kids and seems to enjoy having them (most of the time). I think he secretly likes it when they cry at night and he gets to go sleep on the couch! It is a good thing that Lowell has him to help balance out the girl hormones that will soon overrun us all!
Kelsey
Kelsey B. It is a good thing she was not born a hershey bar because she would have been eaten up long ago by all of us who simply adore her! Kelsey is a force all of her own. We figured she would be extremly athletic when she was jumping on the trampoline before she could walk. We were right. She is a menace on the soccer field and will probably take over her baseball team next year. After a short homeschool stint, she is back in "regular" school and things are going much better than last year. It has taken some work, but she has a great teacher and has made some new friends. She would still rather be home if she had a choice, but I sensed a hermit in the making and knew she needed to give it another try. But she is a doll and we love her to death!
